Claiming Benefits

Healthcare Benefits

You are required to pay for the services provided by this plan, and then submit a claim to Manitoba Blue Cross for reimbursement, with the exception of prescription drugs (see below). Services must be rendered by a provider with Manitoba Blue Cross authorization and a Manitoba Blue Cross provider number.

BlueNet Point of Sale Drug Card (Level II only)

All Level II Retiree Healthcare Plan members are automatically enrolled to participate in the Manitoba Blue Cross BlueNet point of sale drug card program, which allows you to purchase eligible prescription drugs within Manitoba without sending a Claim Form to Manitoba Blue Cross for reimbursement.

The BlueNet logo is displayed on your Manitoba Blue Cross card. Present your card to the pharmacist when purchasing prescription drugs; in a matter of seconds, the BlueNet program will validate eligibility, determine any deductible or co-insurance, and then process the claim. You will not be required to pay for any expenses beyond the deductible, or co-insurance, if applicable.
